Autumn comes late to Waimairi school.
The drains gurgle when water runs down.
The gutters with frosty water trying to break through the dam of leaves.
The dew drops and is hugging the grass.
The plants softly hold the raindrops.
The umbrellas forming a picture of a rainbow.
The smoky skies overlap the bright blue skies.
Now it’s spring and the sunbeams start to break
through the smoky sky
and the first butterfly flies by.
